Genk vs Napoli
Champions League
Date: Wednesday, 2 October 2019
Kick-off at 17:55 UK / 18:55 CET
Venue: Luminus Arena (Genk).

Napoli had a very convincing opening match win at home against the reigning champions, Liverpool, with a clean sheet. The Seria A runners up in the Italian league will be visiting the Belgian First Division Champions in Group E. The hosting contingent, Genk, had their opening Champions League match away from home and was thrashed by Salzburg with a 6-2 score on the board.

The visitors had a good run in their home match and this match will test whether they can fare well away from home too. The Blues have lost only two of the last seven away games in Seria A. They are in a very good shape currently and will use their form to win the three points from the bout.

Genk came in from the First Division Belgium league and are far less experienced in big games when compared to the other teams in the Group E. The Smurfs lost their opening match on a trip to road. The match will be curious to see if they can play better at their home. They have lost only once in the previous eight home matches in the first tier matches. Still, they will have a lot more work to do against the Italian outlooks.

Genk vs Napoli Head-to-head (h2h)
They have not met before in recent times.

Genk vs Napoli Prediction
The home team has failed to score goals against the opposite team in only two out of the last eight home ties in their respective league. To note, the Smurfs have managed to score at least two goals against Salzburg in their previous CL clash. Despite the 6 goals on-slaughter they managed to fight back, which shows they can score goals.

Napoli has been scoring in all their previous eight away games in the Italian league. Also, they have scored against Van Dijk’s defense in their last CL encounter in the group stage. Moreover, the Blues has lost only two of their previous seven fixtures away from home. Even though the host has the home advantage with them, their inexperience in big leagues and the guest’s form can harness the victory to the traveling side.

As such, the match will probably see a couple of goals or more in the ninety minutes with the lead in hands of the Blues.
