RB Leipzig vs Lyon Prediction & Match Preview
RB Leipzig vs Lyon
Date: Wednesday, 2 October 2019
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Red Bull Arena (Leipzig).
The 2-1 win over Benfica on the road in their opener has taken RB Leipzig to the top of the cluster after both Zenit and Lyon shared the spoils in their respective matchup. Timo Werner inspired the hosts to victory in their clash with the Portuguese outfit, with the German international netting a brace in the span of ten minutes, post the restart.
Lyon have got off to a dismal start in the Ligue 1 and are currently without a win in their last seven games, that too in all competitions. The visitors are yet to get into their groove and have lost without finding the back of the net twice in their previous three games as well.
RB Leipzig were stripped of their unbeaten status in the Bundesliga last week, with Schalke posting a 3-1 scoreline at the end of the ninety minutes. However, given that the home team have not admitted back to back defeats since the start of this season, it certainly looks like Lyon have their work cut out for them in this one.

RB Leipzig vs Lyon Prediction
The hosts are just a point away from leading the pack back in the Bundesliga and have been showing real promise in their campaign so far. In addition, it needs mentioning that Leipzig have tasted defeat just once in their last three games here.
On the other hand, Lyon have been a nervous bunch in their trips on the road. The visitors are without a win in their previous three outings, one of which even saw them fail to get their names on the scoresheet.
With an away record this poor, it goes without saying Lyon will be biting off more than what they can chew if they are hopeful of picking even a point off of Leipzig this week.
Furthermore, irrespective of the result, the home team have scored at least once in each of their last three matches here. Their counterparts have been clinical in front of goal in their previous two away fixtures as well, scoring twice in each.
Taking into account that their opening group stage matchups also saw them find the back of the net, by all means, count on both teams to rack up over 2.5 goals on the charts.
