Derby County vs Barnsley Head-to-head (h2h)

- Nine of the previous eleven games saw Derby scoring two or more goals.
- Seven of the last nine overall wins went to the teams that had home advantage.
- Derby are on a four-game winning run at this venue.
Derby County vs Barnsley Prediction
Derby were on the road the last match-day, and almost lost the game. They were trailing 1-0 even into the injury time, but the 90+3rd minute equalizer inspiringly salvaged them a point.
Elsewhere, Barnsley were on the road, and had to share the spoils with Swansea, as the whole ninety minutes failed to fetch any team a goal.
As things stand, Derby hold the upper hand. The prime reason would be the fact that they are much more experienced than their visitors for the day, in the Championship.
In fact, last season, Derby had almost secured promotion to the Premier League, after they made a valiant run into the playoffs final, only to be defeated 2-1 by Aston Villa. In the meantime, Barnsley were not even present in the Championship, and were plying their trade in the League One.
Moving on, on top of this favorable scenario, Derby have the home advantage too. Keep note that they have lost just once at home in their last ten attempts, and have failed to find the back of the net in front of the home crowd just once in the prior eleven appearances.
Importantly, do take into account the fact that Derby have conceded a total of just three goals from their prior seven home fixtures as well.
Furthermore, Barnsley have a single win on the road this whole season, and they have conceded more road goals than double the number they have scored away from home.
In addition, six of the previous eight h2h wins had gone to Derby, while they scored twice or more in nine of the past eleven meetings. Also, seven of the previous nine h2h wins had gone to the teams that had home advantage, and at this venue, Derby are on a four-game winning run as well in such games.
Do note that Derby scored four goals in the latest h2h fixture at this venue, while it took Barnsley six visits to score that many at this venue.
Considering all these observations, rightfully expect Derby to emerge victorious this Thursday at the Pride Park. However, to be on the safe side, we will opt for the Double Chance.
